Paley Rothman Expands Trust & Estate and Tax Capabilities

BETHESDA, MD (November 24, 2021) – Paley Rothman announces John Hendricks  has joined the Estate PlanningEstate & Trust Administration and Tax practice groups. Caroline Mahan also joined the firm as a paralegal in the firm’s Estate Planning and Estate & Trust Administration practice groups. 

“With John’s experience, the firm gains deeper capabilities in estate planning, probate and trust administration, as well as the preparation of federal and state income and estate tax returns,” says Co-President Robert Maclay. “Caroline is a seasoned estate and trust administration paralegal who increases the team’s strength.”

Biographies

John Hendricks, with more than 40 years of private practice experience, focuses primarily on estate planning, probate and trust administration, as well as the preparation of federal and state income and estate tax returns. John recognizes that there is no such thing as a simple will or probate estate as families and emotions can be complex. He focuses on ensuring his clients have the most appropriate and comprehensive estate plan for their goals and needs, while ensuring the clients understand the effect and primary goals of each document. He also prepares income tax returns for individuals, small businesses, partnerships, and various charitable organizations. John’s extensive knowledge of the interplay between estate planning, estate administration, and tax law is invaluable when making the most advantageous tax elections and decisions for his clients. John received his LL.M. in Taxation and J.D. from The George Washington University School of Law, and he received his undergraduate degree from Dickinson College.

Caroline Mahan has more than 25 years of experience as an estate & trust administration paralegal. She graduated from Simmons College with a B.A. in Psychology and subsequently earned an Editing and Publications Certificate at Georgetown University, as well as her MBA at the University of Phoenix. Caroline assists attorneys, clients, and staff in all areas of estate and trust administration and has extensive experience in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
