In response to a recent CareerBuilder survey, which found that one third of hiring and HR managers were unsure of many interview questions’ legality, Paley Rothman’s Jim Hammerschmidt provided added insight on the ease with which an interviewer can inadvertently enter dangerous territory in an interview with Human Resource Executive.
Jim noted that, “The interview process is a time to get to know someone...You’re learning about [applicants’] professional backgrounds, but also about who they are. That poses a lot of dangers, and a lot of risk," and stressed the importance for HR to develop standard interview question templates that remove as much risk as possible.
