Jim Hammerschmidt co-wrote an article that appeared in the Nov.-Dec. 2013 edition of the Maryland Bar Journal that was devoted to Labor & Employment Law. The piece, entitled “Employee or Independent Contractor? Historical Perspective, Current Risks and Practical Tips,” provided a comprehensive overview of the question posed in the title—and covered a wide range of employment issues, legal traps and best practices having to do with distinguishing an employee from an independent contractor.
