Comptroller of Maryland Peter Franchot Visits Paley Rothman

Peter Franchot visits our Bethesda office

The Comptroller of Maryland, Peter Franchot, and members of his staff visited Paley Rothman on Friday, June 5th for a working lunch with our attorneys.

Joining Comptroller Franchot were Director of Compliance Sharonne Bonardi, Director of the Bureau of Revenue Estimates Andy Schaufele, Estate Tax Unit Attorney Laura Thomas and Assistant Comptroller Joe Shapiro. Comptroller Franchot engaged in a lively discussion on a variety of topics, including cyber security, customer service, and tax refunds. Jeff Kolender, Chair of the firm’s Estate Planning and Estate & Trust Administration practice groups provided an overview on our blog, Maryland Comptroller’s Office Comes to Paley Rothman.

During the lunch, Comptroller Franchot presented Wayne Eig with a medallion for his dedicated professional practice, and Paley Rothman’s reputation as an outstanding firm with a commitment to generating constructive working relationships. Mr. Eig is a member of the firm’s Tax, Estate PlanningEstate & Trust Administration and Corporate practice groups.
