Paula Calimafde and Laura Thomas presented to the Maryland State Bar Association's Estate and Gift Tax Study Group on February 15, 2018.
Their presentation covered the effects of 2017 Tax Reform on estate planners. Paula and Laura focused on estate planning impacts and the interplay between income tax, retirement planning, and a continuing shift of focus from estate tax to asset protection across multiple generations.
Paula Calimafde is Chair of the firm's Retirement Plans, Employee Benefits and Government Relations practice groups, and is also a senior member of the Estate Planning, Tax and Nonprofit groups. Laura Thomas is an Associate in the firm's Estate Planning, Estate & Trust Administration, Tax and Corporate practice groups.
