Dorothy Milam-Paxton joined Paley Rothman in 1979 after serving in the U.S. Army. As a Veteran with decades of paralegal experience, Dorothy works with the lawyers in the Estate & Trust Administration practice group on U.S. and international estate and trust administration and related tax matters in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia. She also assists the lawyers in the Estate Planning practice group with preparation of estate planning documents for U.S. and international clients. Dorothy’s extensive experience qualified her as an expert witness in estate administration and preparation of Inventories and Accounts before the Orphan’s Court in Prince George’s County and the Orphan’s Court for Montgomery County. She occasionally assists the lawyers in the firm’s Litigation practice group with matters relating to estates, trusts and fiduciary matters.

Accolades & Awards
  • Recognized by The Daily Record as one of Maryland’s Unsung Heroes in 2008. The Maryland Controller’s office nominated Dorothy for her pro bono assistance in the revisions of Maryland’s tax returns resulting from the decoupling of the State of Maryland from the federal estate tax system.
